Title
Demonstrator Carries "Speak Out Against Racist Violence" Sign at Kum Nam Kim Demonstration
Description
In the center of the frame, a protestor carries a blurred sign that reads "Speak Out Against Racist Violence" while participating in a march at a CAAAV demonstration held in front of the 20th precinct to demand justice and police accountability for Kum Nam Kim, a Korean street vendor on the Upper West Side who was brutalized and arrested by police on August 3, 1993, after protesting an unfair parking ticket. [1] This individual is flanked by two other demonstrators, one of whom carries an unreadable sign that appears half out of frame. Two police officers surveil the group of three from behind a barricade.
