Members of the Japanese drumming ensemble Soh Daiko play percussion instruments during a Taiko performance at CAAAV’s Benefit titled The Rhythm is Ours! Some performers are sitting, while others are standing. The image is captured in black and white.
The fundraiser event was sold-out, and took place at the Public Theater in New York City. Besides Soh Daiko, it featured performances by drumming and dancing groups from different communities including Djembe Ensemble (West African), Umuncha (Korean), Kindig Sindaw (Filipina), M.A.D. Rumberos (Latin), La Troupe Makandal (Afro-Haitian), and Silvercloud Singers (Native American).
