Organizers at Yong Xin Huang's memorial service in Columbus Park
Title
Organizers at Yong Xin Huang's memorial service in Columbus Park
Description
A woman reads out from a leaflet in front of two large posters while Saleem Osman stands behind her, reading through a clipboard. The one of the left is from the Young Korean American Service and Education Center (YKASEC), which is now the MinKwon Center for Community Action. It reads "Justice for Yong Xin Huang 청년학교 YKASEC", and is being held up by someone. The red poster behind the woman and Osman reads "Committee Against Anti-Asian Violence".
This was captured at the memorial for Yong Xin Huang, a teenager who was shot and killed by the police in Brooklyn while playing outside with a BB gun. The vigil was organized by CAAAV a day before what would have been his seventeenth birthday.
