Title
Kinding Sindaw perform at Yong Xin Huang's vigil
Description
Members of Kinding Sindaw, a Filipino performance group, perform Filipino memorial songs at the vigil for Yong Xin Huang. Three men stand on stage while a woman and child stand behind a pedestal. A man with a video camera kneels on-stage to capture the performance. To the right of the pedestal sits a large poster with a picture of Yong Xin, his full name and the words "JUSTICE FOR OUR BROTHER" written in both English (not captured) and Chinese, and his lifespan ("July 17, 1978 - March 24, 1995") written in English.
Yong Xin Huang was a teenager shot and killed by the police in Brooklyn while playing outside with a BB gun. The vigil was organized by CAAAV a day before what would have been his seventeenth birthday.
