The 1996 Racial Justice Day rally and march was organized by the National Congress for Puerto Rican Rights (NCPRR) and co-sponsored by other organizations doing work in communities of color, including CAAAV. The rally was held at City Hall, followed by a march to Tompkins Square Park. Speakers included Yong Xin Huang's sister Joyce and other family members of victims of police violence.
