Title
Protesters holding signs march during a demonstration for Saleem Osman
Description
Protesters holding signs march alongside police barricades during a demonstration for Saleem Osman. The protester in the front holds a sign written in Urdu and the second holds a sign written in English. Behind the protesters is an individual pointing a camcorder into the distance.
On May 26, 1994, Saleem Osman, a CAAAV organizer for the Lease Drivers Coalition, was violently assaulted by police and arrested on fabricated charges. Over a hundred Asian Americans and yellow cab drivers marched from Police Plaza to Central Booking the following day in protest of this unlawful arrest.
