Title
Man holding a megaphone addresses protesters during a demonstration for Saleem Osman
Description
A man addresses protesters using a megaphone during a demonstration for Saleem Osman. Next to the man is a second protester holding a sign that reads “South Asians Demand End Police Brutality.” Additional protesters stand and walk in the background.
On May 26, 1994, Saleem Osman, a CAAAV organizer for the Lease Drivers Coalition, was violently assaulted by police and arrested on fabricated charges. Over a hundred Asian Americans and yellow cab drivers marched from Police Plaza to Central Booking the following day in protest of this unlawful arrest.
