Domestic Workers United Press Conference at City Hall
Title
Description
A group of people pose for a picture on the steps of City Hall in New York City. Some of them are smiling and holding handwritten signs that advocate for domestic workers' rights. Legible signs read: "Domestic Workers United will never be defeated!", "Respect women's labor!!", and “We want fair labor standards.” On the bottom right corner of the image, three people stand behind a microphone smiling, and the person in the middle has their arms around the other two people as they pose for the picture.
The press conference was organized by the Women Workers Project (WWP) of CAAAV at Domestic Workers United (DWU) to advocate for the passage of Intro. 96 and Resolution 135, two pieces of legislation that sought to protect the rights of domestic workers and household employees. The legislation was passed in 2003.
