Protest against police brutality under Giuliani and Bratton #1
Title
Protest against police brutality under Giuliani and Bratton #1
Description
Rudolph William Louis Giuliani was the 107th mayor of New York City. After his success in election in 1993, he pushed a series of "tough on crime" policies and appointed William Bratton as the police commissioner. This led to widespread cases of police brutality targeted against minority groups and immigrant communities.
This photo features participants protesting the racial injustice under Giuliani and Bratton. Banners in the front read "Justice for Anthony Rosario" (murdered by police officer). In the back the larger banner says "Since Giuliani & Bratton, 250% increase [of] police beatings of Asian Americans"
