Speakers at protest against police beating of Yong Kook Ou

Description

In the first photo, Mini Liu is in blue blazer, speaking for CAAAV. In the second photo, the speaker in tan sweatshirt, is speaking for KAAAV (Koreans Against Anti-Asian Violence). Protest was at 17th precinct police station in Manhattan East Side to protest the police beating of 20-year-old Korean student Yong Kook Ou (spellings and the order of his name vary). Weeks earlier Ou was pulled from his bike and arrested for riding against traffic and severely beaten in front of dozens of witnesses. Protestors, holding signs in English and Korean, demanded the dismissal of officers Anthony Venturella and John Giglia and for the court case against Ou to be dropped.
